Ink Cartridges and Compatibility
What does “compatible ink cartridge” mean?
A compatible ink cartridge is a new cartridge made by a third-party manufacturer for use with a particular printer or range of printers. It is not manufactured by the original printer brand, but it is designed to fit and work with the stated models.
Are Cynopack cartridges original manufacturer cartridges?
Unless a product page clearly states otherwise, Cynopack cartridges are compatible products and are not manufactured by Epson, Canon, HP, Brother or another original equipment manufacturer. Brand names and model numbers are used only to explain compatibility.
How do I check whether a cartridge fits my printer?
Check the full printer model and the cartridge number before ordering. You can normally find the model on the front or top of the printer, in its settings menu or on the label at the back. Then compare it with the compatibility list on the relevant Cynopack product page.
Do not rely only on the appearance of the cartridge, because visually similar cartridges may use different chips or fit different printer ranges.
Can you confirm compatibility before I order?
Yes. Email cynopack@gmail.com with your complete printer model and, if possible, the cartridge number currently installed. We will help you identify the appropriate product.
Why is my exact printer model not shown in the listing?
The cartridge may not be suitable, or the model may simply be missing from the displayed list. Please contact us before ordering if your exact model is not listed. A similar model name does not always use the same cartridges.
What is the difference between standard and XL cartridges?
Standard and XL cartridges normally fit the same compatible printers, but XL cartridges contain more ink and are designed to print more pages. The physical size is often the same because the extra capacity is inside the cartridge.
What does page yield mean?
Page yield is an estimate of how many pages a cartridge may print under standard test conditions, commonly based on approximately 5% page coverage. Your actual yield will vary according to the documents, photographs, print quality settings, cleaning cycles and printer usage.
Can I mix compatible and original cartridges in the same printer?
Many printers accept a mixture of compatible and original cartridges. However, results vary by printer, firmware and cartridge set. For the most consistent recognition and ink-level reporting, installing a complete matching set may help.
Can I replace only the empty colour?
Yes, if your printer uses separate individual cartridges. Replace the cartridge identified as empty or unrecognised, following the printer’s instructions. Some printers may still require every colour to contain ink before they will print, even when you want to print only in black.
Are compatible cartridges safe for my printer?
Compatible cartridges designed for the correct printer should be safe when installed and handled properly. Always verify compatibility, remove only the indicated protective seals and never force a cartridge into position.
Installing and Using Your Cartridges
How do I install a new ink cartridge?
- Switch on the printer and open the cartridge access area.
- Wait until the cartridge holder stops moving.
- Remove the old cartridge by following your printer’s instructions.
- Unpack the replacement and remove the specified protective tab, seal or clip.
- Insert the cartridge into the correct colour slot until it is securely seated.
- Close the printer cover and follow any on-screen instructions.
- Print a nozzle check or test page if necessary.
Installation differs by model, so consult your printer manual when in doubt.
Which protective parts should I remove?
Remove only the transport clip, pull tab, tape or seal identified in the cartridge instructions. Do not remove the electronic chip, puncture the cartridge or peel off unmarked labels. Removing the wrong part can cause leakage or recognition problems.
Why does my printer say the cartridge is not recognised?
First confirm that the cartridge number matches your printer. Then:
- Remove the cartridge and check that all required protective packaging has been removed.
- Reinstall it firmly in the correct slot.
- Switch the printer off, unplug it for a few minutes, reconnect it and try again.
- Check the chip contacts for packaging residue or dirt, without touching or damaging them.
- Reinstall the previous cartridge, if available, to help identify whether the issue relates to the printer or the new cartridge.
If the message remains, email us with your printer model, cartridge number, order number and a photograph of the error message.
Why does the printer warn that the cartridge is not genuine?
Some printers display a warning when a compatible cartridge is installed. This does not necessarily mean the cartridge is faulty. If the cartridge is correct and the printer offers an option such as Continue, OK or Use Anyway, follow the on-screen instruction.
Can a printer firmware update affect compatible cartridges?
Yes. Some printer manufacturers release firmware that changes how cartridge chips are recognised. A cartridge that worked before an update may subsequently show an error. Before updating, review the manufacturer’s release information and consider whether the update is necessary for your printer.
Why does my printer show a low or incorrect ink level after installation?
Ink-level monitoring may not always reset or display perfectly with a compatible cartridge. Try restarting the printer and checking that the cartridge is correctly installed. If printing continues normally, the displayed level may simply be an estimate. Contact us if the printer refuses to print.
Why are my prints blank, faded or missing colours?
Check that every required seal or air vent has been opened and that the cartridges are seated correctly. Then run one nozzle check and, if needed, one printhead-cleaning cycle from the printer’s maintenance menu. Avoid running many cleaning cycles in succession because they consume a significant amount of ink.
If the problem continues, allow the printer to rest briefly and repeat the nozzle check. Contact us with a photograph of the result if you still need help.
What should I do if a cartridge leaks?
Stop installation and place the cartridge upright on absorbent material away from children, pets and valuable surfaces. Avoid contact with clothing and eyes. Send us photographs of the cartridge, packaging and any visible leakage, together with your order number. Do not continue using a badly damaged or leaking cartridge.
How should unused cartridges be stored?
Keep unopened cartridges in their original packaging, upright where possible, in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight, freezing temperatures and strong heat. Do not open a cartridge until you are ready to install it.
How long can I store ink cartridges?
Storage life varies by product and conditions. Check any date or guidance printed on the packaging. For best results, keep cartridges sealed and use older stock first.
Orders and Payment
How do I place an order?
Choose the required cartridge or multipack, confirm that your printer appears in the compatibility list, add the item to your basket and complete checkout. Review the product, quantity and delivery address carefully before paying.
Which payment methods do you accept?
The currently available payment methods are displayed securely at checkout. The options may vary depending on the device or payment service you use.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact us as soon as possible at cynopack@gmail.com. If the order has not yet been processed or dispatched, we will try to help. Once it has entered the delivery network, it may no longer be possible to change or cancel it before arrival.
I entered the wrong delivery address. What should I do?
Email us immediately with your order number and the correct address. We can amend it only if the parcel has not already been processed. Customers are responsible for checking their delivery details during checkout.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
An order confirmation should be sent to the email address entered at checkout. Check your spam or junk folder if it does not appear. If you still cannot find it, contact us with your name, approximate order time and payment details that safely identify the order. Never email a full card number.
UK Delivery
How much is UK delivery?
Standard UK delivery is free unless a product or checkout page clearly states otherwise.
Which delivery service do you use?
Orders are generally sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48. The service normally aims to deliver within two to three working days after dispatch, although delays can occasionally occur and delivery dates are not guaranteed.
How can I track my order?
If tracking is available for your order, the tracking information will be provided by email or through your order details once the parcel has been dispatched. Tracking may take some time to update after the label is created.
My tracking says delivered, but I cannot find the parcel. What should I do?
Check the delivery photograph or location information, safe places, household members, reception areas and immediate neighbours. Royal Mail may occasionally leave a parcel in a secure location. If you still cannot locate it, contact us promptly with your order number and tracking number so the delivery can be reviewed.
What happens if my order is delayed?
Allow for weekends, public holidays and unexpected carrier delays. Check the latest tracking first. If there has been no meaningful update or the parcel is substantially late, email us and we will help investigate.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Available destinations are shown at checkout. If your country is not offered, please contact us before ordering. International orders, where available, may be subject to additional delivery charges, customs duties, taxes or import procedures for which the recipient may be responsible.
Returns, Faults and Refunds
Can I return an item if I change my mind?
Please contact us before returning anything. Consumer cancellation rights may apply to eligible online purchases, but cartridges must be returned in a resalable condition and should remain unopened and sealed unless they are faulty. We will provide the appropriate return instructions for your order.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
What should I do if I ordered the wrong cartridge?
Do not open or install it. Email us with your order number, printer model and the cartridge received. We will explain the available return or exchange options. Opened cartridges that are not faulty may not be suitable for resale.
What should I do if an item arrives damaged or faulty?
Contact cynopack@gmail.com as soon as possible. Include your order number, printer model, cartridge number, a clear explanation of the problem and photographs where relevant. We may also ask for a photograph of the printer error or nozzle-check page so that we can diagnose the issue efficiently.
Should I return a faulty cartridge immediately?
No. Contact us first and wait for return instructions. In some cases, troubleshooting information or photographs may resolve the issue without an unnecessary return. Do not send products to an address unless Cynopack has confirmed the correct return details.
When will I receive my refund?
Once a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take additional working days to display it. We will let you know when the refund has been processed.
Do my statutory rights still apply?
Yes. Nothing on this FAQ page limits your rights under applicable UK consumer law. Please refer to Cynopack’s Returns and Refund Policy and Terms and Conditions for the full provisions applying to an order.
